Introduction

NTUNHS was founded in 1954 as the Taiwan Provincial Junior College of Nursing. In 1963, the college merged with the Taipei Senior Vocational School of Medicine, founded in 1947, to become a five-year junior college, the Taiwan Provincial Vocational School of Nursing and Midwifery. In 1981 the college became the National Taipei Nursing College and was reformed again to become the National Taipei College of Nursing in 1994. Finally, in August 2010, the Ministry of Education approved the school's new name, the "National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences," in recognition of the school's outstanding development and achievements. The university has three colleges: The College of Nursing, the College of Health Technology, and the College of Human Development and Health, as well as the General Education Centre.

The College of Nursing is comprised of the School of Nursing (B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.), Department of Midwifery and Women Health Care (Master Program of Nurse-Midwifery in Department of Midwifery and Women Health Care), Department of Gerontological health Care, Department of Health Allied Education and E-Learning(B.S. and M.S.), Graduate Institute of Integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western Nursing, international programs, the International Nursing Master of Science Program, the International Nursing Midwifery Master Program. The College of Health Technology is encompassed by the Department of Health Care Management (B.S. and M.S.), Department of Information Management (B.S. and M.S.), Department of Leisure Industry and Health Promotion (Master Program of Tourism and Health in the Department of Leisure Industry and Health Promotion), Department of Long-Term Care (B.S. and M.S.), Department of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology (B.S. and M.S.). College of Human Development and Health is composed of Department of Infant and Child Care (B.S. and M.S.), Department of Exercise and Health Science (B.S. and M.S.), Department of Thanatology and Health Counselling (B.S. and M.S.). In addition, Dual Bachelor's Degree in Nursing was established in the College of Nursing in accordance with governmental policy in 2016. NTUNHS has nurtured many outstanding nursing, health care and management professionals over its more than half a century of history. These gratifying splendid achievements are epitome of the overall development of nursing vocational education in Taiwan.
