Introduction
Founded in 1905, The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston was the first dental school in Texas and was a founding institution of the world-renowned Texas Medical Center. The school continues to lead dental education today as part of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
The University of Texas School of Dentistry, a part of UT Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), educates dentists, dental hygienists, and dental specialists, including oral and maxillofacial surgeons, orthodontists, endodontists, periodontists, prosthodontists, and pediatric dentists. The school also offers a general practice residency and advanced education in general dentistry.
