Introduction
The School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota is the first school of nursing to offer a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in nurse anaesthesia, nursing informatics, and health innovation and leadership. The school provides its students with a world-class opportunity to learn, lead, and discover in a dynamic learning and research environment. Our faculty are nationally and internationally renowned for their leadership, practice expertise, and research discoveries. Many are professionally engaged in community practices that ground them in the front-line health care challenges and insights of our time.
Today the school ranks 12th among nursing graduate schools by U.S. News and World Report. As part of a premier research institution, the School of Nursing faculty is engaged in discoveries and initiatives with our public, private, and community partners. Applied research and development are enhanced by collaboration with other professions, including the University’s Academic Health Center, including the schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, public health, and nursing. The school has a uniquely integrated relationship with its largest clinical partner, the University of Minnesota Health. This Nursing Collaboratory facilitates research, education, and evidence-based practice in numerous ways.
