Doctoral Study Program in Dentistry University of Airlangga

In this era of globalization, all countries have the same opportunity to compete globally. The result of globalization is the development of the world of science. One indicator of a nation's progress is the number and quality of human resources with doctoral degrees. The number of Doctors needs to be increased, at least 20 percent of the total university lecturers. In this context, it is hoped that apart from accelerating the fulfillment of human resource needs with doctoral qualifications, it is also a program to generate new findings to strengthen national innovation and the nation's competitiveness. The doctoral program was developed not only to produce competent doctors and great inventors but also to produce doctoral scholars, knowledgeable and wise.

The number of doctors in a university is one indicator of the credibility of the institution. Therefore, educational institutions need to continue to increase the number of doctors to improve their quality and credibility. Producing doctorate graduates in various fields of dental health is an important contribution of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Airlangga to the world of health. In accordance with the Airlangga University program in supporting World-Class Universities, and has been issued by the Chancellor in 2017 regarding research-based doctoral program education guidance (by research). This program is expected within 3 years to complete research and write a dissertation.

With the opening of this new study program, it is hoped that it can contribute to creative and innovative research results in the health sector, especially dentistry. A multi-disciplinary and transdisciplinary educational program. Produce graduates who are qualified, professional, competent, and in accordance with the needs of the nation for the present and the future.

Vision

Forming human resources in producing innovative new research in Dentistry through independent research, which can meet the demands of society's needs that are oriented towards the interests of the nation in the national and international regions based on religious morals.

Mission

1. Organizing research-based education and publications in the advancement of dental health science and technology.
2. Produce research updates that are beneficial to the wider community in supporting health development at the national and international levels through publications.
3. Carry out updating of research results in an effort to improve dental health for public welfare.

Doctoral Study Program

1. Program with research. Prospective doctors have immediately followed the research tree at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Airlangga.
2. Shorter Study Period. Doctoral candidate students get guidance from promoters and co-authors while conducting research, which is in accordance with the supervisor's research tree.
3. No Regular Course.
4. Get Facilities to take part in National and International seminars.
5. Get national and international journal publication facilities.
