The program aims to continue with the quality training of researchers in the field of the molecular bases of human diseases. Research in human health is a priority axis of the different knowledge management and innovation programs, both at the regional, state and European level.

The study of the cellular, molecular and genetic bases of human diseases is one of the fields that has undergone the strongest expansion in recent years. These studies are a constant source of relevant information for the knowledge of human pathologies, decisively contributing to the improvement in diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, all aspects that have directly benefited from the irruption of molecular techniques in medicine. Thus, there is a high need to train qualified researchers in these fields, who nurture the academic, health and biotechnological fields. The main objective is to train, with quality research training under international standards, students to carry out a doctoral thesis in the study of the molecular bases of human diseases, in a basic and translational research environment of scientific excellence.
