Terra Nova University is an international postgraduate school registered in the state of Delaware (USA), which operates in Italy as a foreign institution through Uniselinus Educational Group srl, as duly authorized by the competent authorities pursuant to Presidential Decree no. 389 of 18 April 1994, published in the Italian Official Gazette. No. 141 of 18 June 1994.

Terra Nova University is an institution for adult learners, such as entrepreneurs, managers and professionals. To be eligible for the PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), DPS (Doctor of Professional Studies) or DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) programs, a Master's degree or equivalent title is required.

Any Doctor of Philosophy degree, either in science or in humanities, will attest to graduates' deep knowledge and mastery of the chosen topic. The distance learning PhD degree is earned after successfully completing and defending the final doctoral thesis in the academic major of choice. The program is an effective way to strengthen students' cultural backgrounds and to foster new academic contributions in their knowledge field.

In order to be eligible for the program, students need to possess a Master's degree or equivalent and be at least 30 years old. The main requirement for a distance learning Ph.D. by Research is to submit and defend the final thesis, which is required to have a minimum length of at least 90/100 pages. After the submission, it will be reviewed and evaluated by Terra Nova University's academic committee. In some cases, previous candidate's publications may be relevant for Ph.D. purposes. The program has no minimum duration, with a maximum duration of 24 months. It does not have any intake or admission deadline; therefore, students can apply any time of the year.
