Presentation
Diet therapy is the therapy that is based on the prevention and improvement of diseases or the elimination of their symptoms, through the foods that we eat or those that we eliminate from the diet. Not only must take into account the nutritional properties, also we must consider the manipulations and processes to which food is subject, as well as the methods of cultivation or aging of the plants or animals that we ingest.
Since prehistory, animals have been able to regulate food intake to correct imbalances in health or to attenuate symptoms, an example of this can be found in our pets, which by "instinct", are purged by eating certain plants or by doing fasting, when they feel bad. Humans have not lost this instinct at all, the problem is that we do not listen to our organism, who has not felt at a certain moment rejection for a food, has taken it, and subsequently it has been wrong, or in certain occasions you have the need to drink, something sweet, or salty. Diet therapy is used very frequently by allopathic medicine, and almost always, in Holistic medicine, although not always with the same criteria.
Dietotherapy in allopathic medicine uses diet therapy always under the foundation and scientific knowledge of the moment. These scientific foundations are dynamic and vary according to the new knowledge that science brings. The examples of the use of diet therapy by allopathic medicine is known by everyone, from the "soft" diet, which rule in case of gastrointestinal problems, going through the diet for diabetes, the elimination of gluten for celiacs or simply diets rich in iron for anemia. The examples of the application of diet therapy by allopathic medicine are very numerous, with a base and results that nobody can judge. It tends to a "mechanical" approach based on the ingestion of drugs, with the concept; that for the same symptoms, same treatment, curing the part of the individual who is sick.
Diet therapy in holistic therapies , unlike allopathic medicine, holistic therapies not only take into account scientific knowledge, but also based on experience, the laws of nature and the subtle energies that living organisms They have in itself. Holistic therapists not only take into account the physical properties of the food, in addition to the nutritional components that it provides, the therapeutic properties, the handling, the culture and breeding processes and the preparation of the foods that are going to be consumed are also valued . For this holistic therapies take into account the denaturation that occurs in certain forms of preparation or preservation of foods such as, for example, the use of microwaves, fried or smoked. Holistic therapies also take into account the processes that are carried out for the crop, using the products that have been obtained in a natural way without the use of chemical products, products that do not contribute anything positive when being ingested next to the food. Most of these principles are being increasingly recognized by official science being endorsed by scientists. An example of this is the studies of proteins that are produced in the handling and preparation of food, and how these can be the causes of many chronic diseases, diseases that currently seem to increase exponentially.
In short, both allopathic and holistic medicine, are based on health food, and resort to food as a form of prevention, cure or elimination of the symptoms of diseases.
