Introduction
Are you a Bachelor’s or Diploma graduate looking to deepen your knowledge and specialize in modern analytical methods for medicine, pharmaceuticals, environmental studies, or forensics? Would you also like to improve your specialist knowledge of English? Are you aiming to launch your career in the not too distant future? Then our one-year, English-language Master’s study program in Bioanalytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis is the perfect choice!
Curriculum
Structure
A master's in just one year
Establishing rapid and efficient analysis is both a great challenge and vital for the industry. We will set you on the right path and give you the skills you need.
Content
We focus on the various analytical methods and work with you to establish which methods are best suited to specific tasks. We don't just take measurements, we also ask questions and use the answers to develop the best solutions. If you want your Master's to be a success, you need to enjoy laboratory work - after all, you will be spending considerable time in the lab.
Specializations
As well as studying analytical methods, you will learn about the key legal requirements that play a major role in the development, registration, production, and distribution of medicinal products. We will also spend plenty of time on quality assurance - precision is key for analytical methods, requiring a keen awareness of quality. Fascinating lectures will also provide insights into the world of proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides and their importance in physiological processes.
Advantages
We offer practical teaching by lecturers who have professional experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and know the needs of the market. This Master's study program has a strong focus on application, and you will spend a great deal of time in our state-of-the-art laboratories. The program has an international feel from the outset and all content is taught in English, providing you yet another advantage.
Campus: Idstein
Our personal learning atmosphere, with small study groups and individual supervision by our experienced lecturers, will prove extremely beneficial. The program is structured to accommodate your needs. The first semester will be spent attending lectures and applying your specialist knowledge in the laboratory. In the second semester, you will concentrate solely on your Master’s thesis. If you wish, you can also write your thesis abroad – we have contacts around the world and will be happy to help.
Practical Focus
In numerous practical phases in the laboratory, you will work independently on various projects and gain experience of working with modern analytical devices. The study program is rounded off by case studies and excursions to companies in the pharmaceutical and bioanalysis industry with integrated workshops. This helps you to find not only a suitable topic but also potential corporate partners for your final Master’s thesis.
Further qualifications
While we do not have the right to confer doctorates, we work with numerous partner universities in Germany and abroad to help students earn their doctorate. A large proportion of our graduates go on to doctorates at German and international universities. Your studies will open up potential careers in business, teaching, and research.
