Introduction
The Baylor College of Medicine Orthotics and Prosthetics Program is the only academic program in the nation in which the dual clinical residency requirements are included. Program graduates are eligible to sit for both Orthotics and Prosthetics board certification exams upon completing their M.S. degree.
The mission of Baylor College of Medicine's Orthotics and Prosthetics Program is to produce future generations of orthotics and prosthetists who:
Improve the lives of those they have the opportunity to treat;
Serve leadership roles in clinical practice, research, and academia;
Engage in the transfer of the best evidence to clinical practice;
Navigate the complexities of modern healthcare practice skillfully;
Drive the development of leading technology.
Our program is dedicated to helping students become leading orthotists and prosthetists prepared to treat those who undergo limb loss or need orthotic intervention.
Based within Baylor College of Medicine's School of Health Professions, the O & P Program is also aligned with one of the nation's highest-ranked medical schools and graduate schools of biomedical sciences and one of the largest biomedical research enterprises in the country.
The Commission accredits the Orthotics and Prosthetics Program on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or CAAHEP.
