Students will learn a correct research approach for studying the causes and the clinical-therapeutic management of diseases. The course aims to teach students to identify clinical issues, apply various research methodologies, utilize biological markers, develop critical analysis skills for research results, and understand ethical considerations in clinical research.

How to apply for admission to a doctoral programme

Access to a doctoral research programme is through a public competition.

Every year, the University of Milan publishes calls for applications that set out the requirements, deadlines, access and selection procedures for each doctoral programme.

Admissions Option 2

Scholarships are awarded to doctoral students based on merit rankings.

In order to initiate the procedure for payment of the doctoral scholarship students must complete 

 the questionnaire regarding the working position and indicate the IBAN code.

Beneficiaries of doctoral scholarships are required to register with INPS, self-employment section, as doctoral students.

Curriculum

Students will learn a correct research approach for studying the causes and the clinical-therapeutic management of diseases.
Specific objectives:

Identify clinical issues and uncertainties in pathogenesis, diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic approaches in various diseases

Correctly apply different research methodologies (randomized trials, longitudinal, cross-sectional or transversal studies and case-control studies)

Identify and use biological and genetic markers for studying clinical syndromes, guiding diagnosis and assessing the clinical outcome of different pathologies

Develop critical skills to analyse and comment on clinical research results published or presented at national and international conferences

Introduce students to independent clinical research methods and to the issues and critical points relating to ethics in clinical research

Program Outcome

For students with foreign citizenship whose households produce income and assets abroad, the second instalment is not calculated on the ISEE University value. Still, it consists of a fixed second instalment amount based on the student's citizenship, the fee area for the degree program, and the student's status (on track / off track for one year or off track for more than one year). For 2024/25 a.y., the range of the second instalment was between Euro 200 and Euro 3840.
