Medical school education, in fact, remains largely anchored to a traditional paradigm of learning a discrete amount of information about pathophysiology principles and illnesses’ descriptions, without worrying about developing the skills necessary to work confidently "on the patient".

The Harvey Medicine and Surgery Course was founded on October 1st, 2009 by Professor Ermanno Gherardi, Head of the Department of Molecular Medicine. It is a six-year, single-cycle Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery. The Harvey Course was thought “not just to teach the medical profession, but also to build a solid scientific basis for continued training that will be vital for the reception and understanding of future medicine”.

MD Medicine and Surgery provides the scientific basis and the theoretical and practical training essential for the exercise of the medical profession internationally. Students develop all the technical competencies required to operate independently and responsibly in the medical sector.

The general educational objectives of the Doctorate in the Area of Drugs and Innovative Treatments are aimed at preparing researchers who are experts in the field of drugs and health products with a view to possible insertion, once the qualification has been acquired, in both public and private work environments.

The final thesis of this doctoral programme should cover mental, emotional and spiritual connections with various pathological states and how they are overcome. In addition to developing methodologies for the use of various natural medicines, the candidate should indicate the new and important perspective of life force and its role in the healing process, when used together with the principles of natural health sciences.

The aim of the course is to prepare graduates with good biomedical culture, with in-depth knowledge of biotechnology, acquired and consolidated on an important practical experience in the laboratory.
