Introduction
The nurse's responsibility includes promoting health, relieving suffering and contributing to quality of life and well-being throughout the life cycle. In order to obtain quality and safety in care, the nurse performs person-centered care, collaborates in teams, exercises evidence-based care, develops improvement knowledge and quality development, conducts safe care and informatics, and leads the pedagogical efforts in the nursing work.
The nursing program at Sophiahemmet Högskola is popular with a large number of applicants and has among the highest admission points in the country. Here, nurses are trained who are well prepared to participate in, lead and develop the high-tech healthcare of the future, both with a national and an international perspective. The education is adapted to the requirements set within the EU and gives the right to work as a nurse in large parts of the health care system. The nursing program comprises three years of full-time studies that give 180 higher education credits, which leads to both a nursing degree and a bachelor's degree in nursing science.
