Coordinating University:University of Santiago de CompostelagoalsAt SUG universities there are several master's degrees within the life sciences field, with different contents and orientations. The Master in Genomics and Genetics aims to satisfy the demand for university training, within the SUG, in theoretical and experimental biology, veterinary medicine, food technology, pharmacy, forestry-agriculture and the environment, which represents an opportunity for / the students who require more training in frontiers of knowledge and technology in the life sciences in the Autonomous Community of Galicia. This proposal seeks to respond to the practical and scientific needs of the SUG, with teaching in four campuses (Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Lugo and Pontevedra) and a strategic projection towards key sectors of the Autonomous Community of Galicia, such as health, based on new knowledge and technologies, and primary production, in key sectors such as agroforestry and food and marine, always from the strength of genomic and genetic disciplines.

Specialty in Human GeneticsTo obtain a specialty, the student must take five optional subjects from the module of the chosen specialty. The master's degree can be taken without a specialty, for which the student can choose the five optional subjects that he has to take from among all those offered in the degree without taking into account the module to which they belong
Credit transfer and recognition:
Recognition of credits: consists of the acceptance by a university of the credits that were obtained in an official education, in the same or in another university, and that are computed in other different teachings for the purposes of obtaining an official degree.

This master's degree delves into the most current aspects of genetics and genomics and enables students to face the current challenges of these scientific disciplines and to pursue an academic and research career since it provides them with the necessary training to have access to doctoral studies. However, the master's degree also provides training for professional practice in the industrial and productive sector both in R&D centers and in public and / or private companies in which genetic, genomic and associated disciplines methodologies are used. As can be seen in the documentation of the master there are numerous companies and institutions where students can carry out their practices and that use genetic and genomic methodologies in their day-to-day life.
